Rosemary Nissen-Wade: Aussie poet and teacher of metaphysics – a personal view
My bestie nicknamed me SnakyPoet on her blog, and I liked it. (It began as
'the poet of the serpentine Northern Rivers' and became more and more abbreviated.)

A Week of Gratitude

16/2/13

I'm grateful that my body isn't aching tonight.
I'm grateful for my son David phoning me today.
I'm grateful for the digital revolution.

17/2/13

I'm grateful to myself for getting to bed at a decent hour - and after washing the dishes and doing 15 minutes of de-cluttering, too.
I'm grateful that I have a comfortable home to live in, and that it's high out of the flood risk areas.
I'm grateful that I had Andrew in my life.

18/2/13

I feel sorry for myself tonight - weak and vulnerable because I have a cold, and sad because those particular arms are not here any more to cuddle me, and that particular voice to utter words of caring and support. I'm grateful that I experienced so many years of those arms and those words, so I can recreate them in my mind and feel a little comforted even while I feel sad.

I'm grateful that I have a warm, safe house and a comfortable warm bed, while the rain is belting down relentlessly outside.

I'm grateful that I made it home safely during this afternoon's sudden deluge.

19/2/13

I'm grateful that I can cry without disturbing the neighbours.
I'm grateful that the cats are adapting to our new situation and behaving so well.
I'm grateful that this place suits me so well.

20/2/13

I'm grateful that I got money from family and Government after Andrew died, which enabled me to pay off large debts, particularly the vet's bill.
I'm grateful that I managed to get enough food in before the rain got so bad again.
I'm grateful that I have been able to watch all of Dr Who since the beginning.

21/2/13

I'm grateful that I learned to read at a very young age and have loved it ever since.
I'm grateful for poetry.
I'm grateful for my many good friends.

22/2/13

I 'm grateful that my cats love me and like my company.
I'm grateful that I had a good education.
I'm grateful for being alive.

  2. Hi Rosemary! Quite a lot of blessings--a very good thing to count, and I like your humor and heart in how specific you were. Glad that you are feeling better--enjoyed your webpage and getting to know you better. Very impressive!! Hope you're having less rain and more health :-)
